Weekly Post 4/30/2022

Greetings,

I hope all of you are doing well and not stressing too much about exams.  Wishing you all much success on your exams this week.

Just a few reminders:

If you forgot to do the participation question from last week, just let me know and I can reopen it for you.

Project 3 is due on Monday at 11:59 PM. If you need the grace period (to Wednesday at 11:59 PM), just let me know. and if you absolutely need a few more hours, we can deal with that on Thursday morning.

To those you graduating, congratulations! I wish you all the best as you move into the next phase of your lives. And if you are still looking for a job, keep an eye on the blog as I'll continue to post jobs as I learn of them.  There are also several posted on the Michigan: https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/michigan?keywords=engineering  I don't believe those ever get posted on Handshake.

And for those of you that still have time left in your program, here is a scholarship opportunity: ASCE  Scholarship opportunity. The Mackinac Scholarship ($5,000 each year, for two years) is for students entering Junior year and the Zuidema Scholarship ($1,500) is for any general student members of ASCE.

Weekly Message 4/24/2022

Greetings and Happy Sunday!

I hope you were able to get out and enjoy some of the summer weather Mother Nature gifted us with this weekend. But it won't be 80 degrees for long. It's supposed to be back in the 40s during the week.

There will be no formal lectures this week.  Instead, I will be available online during class time to meet with teams and to answer questions about Project 3 and the last homework assignment. I will not hold office hours this week; however, if you wish to meet outside of class time, just email me and we will find a time to meet.

The homework that is due this week is on NOx reduction and incineration. The last participation question of the semester is also due on Wednesday. If you need the grace period, just let me know.

Project 2 is due on Monday, May 1 at 11:59 pm.  If you need the grace period through Wednesday, May 3 at 11:59 pm, please let me know next week. I will be available on Monday and Wednesday (May 1 and 3) from 10:30-11:30 for to answer any last minute project questions. There is no final exam in ENE 489.

Have a great rest of your weekend,

Dr. Masten

And for news from EES and job announcements:

EES News:

This is just a reminder for our social/de-stress event on Monday at 6pm at the Baker Woodlot. We will be meeting at the entrance on Farm Lane just past the intersection of Farm and Service (see attached image). There are bike racks available at the entrance, otherwise there are a few metered parking spaces in Lot 101 as well as just outside of Lot 53 (see image).
